credwiz.exe

The credwiz.exe application is the Credential Backup and Restore Wizard. The first screen exposes a Browse... button that immediately opens an Explorer file dialog (save location picker).

To lock down your device, follow these steps:

  1. Press Win-R on your keyboard.

  2. Type credwiz and press Enter.

  3. Click next to continue.

  4. On the first screen, click Browse... (Explorer dialog opens).

  5. Navigate to the requested path and continue.

Once you have completed these steps, you can continue to use this application.

Your device credentials are invalid.

Your device credentials are invalid. To recover valid credentials, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Win key on your keyboard.

  2. Type credwiz in the search box.

  3. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter to run elevated and click Yes if prompted.

  4. Click next to continue.

  5. On the first screen, click Browse... (Explorer dialog opens).

  6. Navigate to the requested path and continue.
